This year’s, Boat International Sponsored, Superyacht Design Symposium will be held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Miami, Florida.
Ron has been invited to attend and be a speaker on the topic of ‘How bow shapes define style and performance’. This salon-style event has a more relaxed atmosphere than many of the design events, allowing for participants and audience members to address questions to the panel. A unique feature of this event is the inclusion of yacht owners on several of the panels, which allows for topics to be investigated from both sides of the designer/owner relationship.
Ron will be discussing How bow shapes define style and performance, along with Ronno Schouten of De Voogt Naval Architects and Martin Francis of Francis Design. Topics to be covered will consist of:
• Beyond the faddish
• Impact on performance, aesthetics and marketing
• Relationship between the designer and the naval architect
• Functionality and constraints in the general arrangement
